All Natural Lotion Bars – DIY at Home
I am a huge fan of lotion, living in Arizona we need to keep our skin hydrated. My favorite new product that I purchased was a Lotion Bar. It was amazing, convenient and adorable (Love the idea as a gift) but I was not crazy about the scents that were available.
So, I played around with multiple recipes and this is what I have found to work best for me. I also love the idea that this is a natural product – I know that it does not have the chemical ingredients that I am certain make my skin dryer with use.
These are the ingredients that I purchased online and this is the recipe that I have found to work best – trial and error of course depending on your location and the products that you choose to work with – Have Fun!

Homemade Lotion Bars Recipe!
SUPPLIES:
Double boiler or if you do not have one use a pan and a glass or tin container to melt ingredients in. (Preferably a container that you are going to use for crafts in the future).
Silicone molds
Food scale
Funnel
Large spoon
Tin
INGREDIENTS:
3 oz beeswax
3 oz Coconut Oil
3 oz Shea Butter
Essential oils (if you want scent)
Natural Mica Powder (if you want color)
If you’re looking for another DIY gift, try making these DIY Chapstick/Lip Balm using the same ingredients.
DIRECTIONS:
Heat the pot of water on the stove set to medium heat.
Fill all the ingredients into the double boiler or glass and put the glass into the pot of hot water.
Melt the beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil in a bowl over a pan/pot of boiling water. Use the double boiler pot. If you do not have one add water to an old pot and use a Pyrex container to mix ingredients in.
*Stir the contents until they become watery in consistency.
Turn off the heat, but keep the mixture heated over the pot or else it will start to harden fast!
Add the essential oils and color (only if you want to get creative).
Use a pipette or a dropper to fill your lotion silicone mold containers.
*When the lotion bars cool in the silicone containers they tend to “sink in” a little so going back through and topping each container off gives your lotion bars the professional completed look.
Let the silicone molds set on the counter when full to let them harden for a few minutes and go back and “top” off.
Let the lotion bar mixture harden in the fridge or freezer for a couple hours or overnight. Once hardened, they will no longer needs to be stored in the fridge.
Carefully remove each lotion bar from the silicone molds. I like to use these tins that I found online for easy clean storage. They also look cute when giving as gifts.
