The Best Corn Bread Recipe

Prep Time – 15 minutes                      Cook Time – 22-24 minutes

This Corn Bread Recipe is so easy to make.  It requires just a few ingredients, and 10-15 minutes of your time to get it into the oven. Perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas or just a great meal!

Servings: 12                                                         Yield: 1 loaf – Double the recipe is the preferred method.
This corn bread recipe is moist and delicious with loads of flavor! My Friends and family love this recipe and say it’s by far the best ever. Enjoy!
Make this amazing Chili recipe to complement this cornbread for the perfect meal on a cold day or simply when the time is right.

Ingredients:

1 cup Yellow Corn Meal
1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 large egg

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.  Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. 
  3. In a separate small bowl combine milk, oil, and egg. 
  4. Mix well. 
  5. Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture stirring just until blended. 
  6. Pour into a prepared (lightly greased) pan.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 20 – 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
  8. Let cornbread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.
  9. Serve with Warm Butter & Enjoy!
